Official poker is a gambling game where players use their cards to make the best possible five-card poker hand. The player with the highest combination of cards wins a pot.

There are several different types of poker, including Texas hold’em, Omaha, and Seven-card stud. Each of these games has its own rules and betting procedures.

In Texas hold’em, players are dealt two hole cards and five community cards, each of which is face up. These cards can be used in combination with the hole cards to make the strongest poker hands.

The first round of betting occurs right after each player is dealt their two hole cards. The first player to act is the one to the left of the big blind, and this person has the option to fold, call, or raise.

After this first round of betting, a second round of betting takes place, and the remaining players have the options to check, bet, or raise. After all betting is complete, the remaining players reveal their hands to the dealer and the best hand wins the pot.

Raise – A player can raise to an amount equal to the minimum chip size of the ante, blinds, or pre-game collection, with the exception of an all-in bet, which requires that only playable chips are pushed into the pot.

Verbally stating that you are going to take a specific action, such as a bet, raise, call, or fold, is binding. It also makes the player responsible for deciding how much to bet, and who else is entitled to participate in the action.
