During the early stages of state-regulated sports betting, it was not uncommon for states to be slow to get on the gambling bandwagon. For instance, Connecticut’s sports betting market took nearly six months to roll out, largely because of a controversial law that impeded the creation of a regulated online sportsbook. However, a new law signed by Gov. Ned Lamont in May 2021 will allow online sports betting in the state, at least in the near future.

Although it’s been years since the aforementioned laws were passed, Oregon’s foray into sports betting is a unique and worthy entry in the sports gambling world. Not only is Oregon one of the few states to offer sports betting as a state-run endeavor, but they have also come up with a gimmick-worthy sports betting app in the form of the Scoreboard app.

The aforementioned is the most impressive of the numerous sports gambling apps that were introduced in the state in late March and early April. Among them, one stands out from the crowd: DraftKings. As the name suggests, the company is a leader in sports betting. The company was also among the first to introduce an online sports betting app, in addition to its brick and mortar casino locations.

In addition to the aforementioned, Oregon’s sports betting app also features a slew of other gimmicks. Among them, the app features a state-of-the-art interactive sports scoreboard, sports-themed trivia, and the most comprehensive listing of all Oregon-licensed sportsbooks.
