The NFL is about to make betting on its games a part of its brand identity. In a multiyear agreement, the league will grant exclusive access to its content and features to three betting companies – DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment. This will allow the betting content to be integrated into NFL Network broadcasts starting this fall.
The Liberty: One of the eight original WNBA franchises, the Liberty plays at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The team is owned by Joe Tsai, who also owns the Brooklyn Nets. BetMGM: In November of 2021, BetMGM will become the official betting partner of the Knicks, Rangers, and Madison Square Garden. In March of 2022, BetMGM and Betway will announce their partnership with the Nets and Sixers.
In Iowa, sports betting became legal in August 2019. Other states have taken six months to a year to launch. Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF 617 in January, but it took almost three months for the state to start accepting bets. Despite the long wait, the state has seen a significant increase in bets.
The NFL is committed to protecting the integrity of games. Since 1992, when the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, the league has been a leading advocate of legalized sports betting. It is also committed to creating a safe betting environment for fans and players. As a result, Proposition 27 contains several strong integrity provisions.
